Hypnosis really?

Hypnosis is a natural 'state' of focussed awareness 

Hypnosis can be referred to as  'state management'.

Hypnosis is similar to daydreaming, or being deeply absorbed in a book or a film. 

Its something you move in and out of every day.

In this 'state' your mind becomes more open to helpful suggestions and new ways of working.

In this state we can work with habits, emotions and automatic patterns more effectively. 

Change can happen naturally.   

Will I lose  control or be made to do something against my will?

No - and this is worth being clear about!

You remain aware, present and in control throughout. 

You wont say or do anything that doesn't feel right to you.

In fact, most people find the opposite; they feel more control , not less - it can strengthen control.

 

Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process - it works with you, never around you.

 

Does 
Hypnotherapy actually 
work?

 

Yes - and not because something is being done to you. 

It works because we engage the part of your mind where habits, emotional responses, and patterns are actually stored. 

When change happens there, it doesnt feel forced. 

It feels natural -  like something has quietly shifted rather than been battled or forced into place.

The key factors are the relationship, the approach and how the work is personalised to your needs specifically

 

What does it feel like to be hypnotised?

There is no single correct experience.

People expect hypnosis to feel strange........ however, most experience a feeling of deep   relaxation with a clear mind...... 

Some notice images, sensations or quiet emotional shifts. Some feel heavy and calm, others light and then some feel like they are simply listening!

Everyone's experience is a little bit different 

 

However your mind works is exactly how we'll work with it...

Not sure if you can be hypnotised?

If you are wondering 'What if I cant be hypnotised?', you are not alone. 

You don't need to be 'easy to hypnotise'. In reality most people can enter hypnosis. If you can focus, imagine, follow simple guidance you can do this. 

There is no performance involved. 

In fact, people who are thoughtful and/or analytical respond particularly well because, this approach offers them something different; a way to experience rather than just understand.

Nerves do not block hypnosis - we work with them! 

Can you get stuck in Hypnosis?

No - this is a common myth.

 

Hypnosis is a natural state, and you can return to full awareness at any time. 

Even if someone stopped talking, your mind naturally reorients itself, much like waking from a daydream.

You are never trapped in the process. 

Your mind knows how to return to balance.

What can Hypnotherapy work with?

Hypnotherapy can work in many areas where people feel stuck in patterns which they cant think their way out of.

 

This can include:

  • Anxiety and overthinking 
  • Low confidence or persistant self-doubt
  • Habits such as Smoking / Vaping 
  • Eating patterns
  • Fears and Phobias
  • Emotional blocks
  • Imposter syndrome
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Sleep difficulties

 

If something feels stuck or hard to control, that can be a sign it can be worked with at a deeper level

What actually happens in the first session?

In the first session, we begin with an easy conversation to understand whats really going on - not just the issue, but how it operates for you and what you want to change.

I will explain how we will work, answer your questions to help you feel safe and comfortable as I guide you into a relaxed focussed state. 

I will design a programme specific to your needs, working intuitively and responsively to combine hypnotherapy, NLP and gestalt based approaches. 

You will leave with a plan and clear next steps. 

 

You dont need to know how it will work. You just need to show up.
